Stuffed Bacon Jalapenos

Ingredients

jalapenos, halved & seeded

cream cheese

garlic powder

bacon thinly sliced

Directions

Slice peppers lengthwise & remove all seeds. Wash, drain & dry with a paper towel.
Combine cream cheese & garlic powder. Stuff peppers.
Wrap each pepper in a slice of bacon.
Place peppers on a rack over a baking pan.

Bake at 450 degrees for 30-40 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. Watch carefully.

Optional:

May combine brown sugar & chile powder to coat the bacon before wrapping peppers.

Some of Debbie’s friends in Mexico cook the peppers at a lower temp but longer.
The longer they are baked, the milder they become.
